Day 10 - Puerto Vallarta

This morning we caught a water taxi to Yelapa which is a small town south of Puerto Vallarta. Water is the only way to access Yelapa - no roads from outside the town and there are no cars there. Transportation around town is either by horse or on foot. We walked up to the waterfall and then had lunch at Cafe Bahia which was a really cute restaurant located on the waters edge. Shane and the kids decided to go snorkelling but that didn't last long as Shane was stung by a stingray only metres off the shore. I don't think that I have ever seen him in so much pain. We were really lucky that the kids didn't get stung as Ali stood on a stingray - they both ran out the water really quickly when Shane was stung. We were lucky that he knew the treatment so we immediately put his foot in hot water and kept that going for the next hour or so until the pain eventually started to subside. We caught a water taxi back to Boca de Tomtlan and then the bus back to the hotel. We spent some time in the spa that evening where the hot water helped to relieve the pain from Shane's foot. We ended up having another lovely dinner at the hotel. Overnight: Casa Iguana

The only time I can remember Shane hurting more was at 1992 State Short Course when an American beat him by 7+ seconds in the 200 free
