Well it seemed like a good idea when we were thousands of miles away, but when it came to getting up at 3.45am this morning no one was happy. But we did it anyway as we had already bought the tickets to the Rose Parade which is held in Pasadena (2hr plus drive from San Diego and we had to be parked in the car park by 7am. This parade is held as part of the tournament of roses which includes the Rose Parade and Rose Bowl (College Football game). We arrived early to see thousands of people lining the streets (many arrived the day before and celebrated the New Year on the streets - it would have been a cold night). The parade was amazing - the photos speak for themselves, but you probably can't see that all floats are fully decorated in flowers, seeds and natural materials only. It certainly was a sight to be seen and we were all really glad that we made the effort to get there. After we arrived back in San Diego we were able to catch up with David, Demi and Gage for dinner. It was a really long day and we were all really happy to hit the sack that night.
